Sample Thesis Statements for Baghdad Burning

After reading Baghdad Burning, Americans will realize all the misconceptions we have of the Iraqi citizens, and look beyond believing the narrow minded CNN reports as well as Fox news.

American troops in Iraq are anything besides perfect, and have made plenty of stupid mistakes throughout the war which has resulted in the death of many innocent Iraqi lives.

How do we expect Iraq to be able to stand on its own two feet if we control and intervene in many decisions the government makes?

The American troops in Iraq did not want to be a part of the war anymore so they tried to create more violence to show everyone that the occupation was not working.

If the people in Iraq had gone with what the Americans were trying to do, the occupation would have ended much quicker, and the Iraqi government would have become stable much quicker.

Riverbend uses her computer as a way to let out her frustration and fear, because she is so knowledgeable, she enjoys seeing her views out on the internet for people to see, and finds joy in it.

Since the war in Iraq began, women's roles have changed tremendously.

After reading Burning Baghdad, American troops are beginning to have a negative effect in Iraq.

The American government should let Iraq choose its own leader.

Violence is definitely an important theme in Baghdad Burning, but it is truly ignorance that is the catalyst for the events in the book. From bringing in Turkish troops to Iraq, to the blatant disregard for other cultures, social barriers created from ignorance have torn Baghdad – and its relations with the U.S – apart.

Baghdad Burning is a tale not of suffering or violence, but a living, breathing account of non-concentrated ignorance. From the initial strike, to the hatred and prejudice that followed, it is ignorance, I’ve learned, that has molded and shaped every aspect of this war.

Riverbend explores the affects of change and how the people of her country are dealing with the new life they are living in, post U.S. occupation.

Baghdad Burning shows how the roles of woman in society are decreased and how the Iraqi woman are greatly oppressed by the situation they are forced to currently live in.

Violence is a major theme in Riverbends's blog and how the people of her courty and herself have learned to live and deal with the violence that goes on around them everyday.

Riverbend gives her story of her life and how difficult it is, Bremer says Iraq is safe and sound. Who is the liar?

America does not have Iraq under control according to Riverbend. Her life tells why and how she came to her conclusion.

Bremer and Riverbend are 2 totally opposite people and anyone would agree with that, but is Bremer telling the truth about the situation in Iraq and are lives in danger there?
